IITGN and JAIST hold hands to promote research

An MoU was signed on August 28, 2017 between the institute and Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST) to institute a programme offering a double Master’s degree. A delegation from JAIST led by President Dr Tetsuo Asano visited IITGN to sign the MoU. The delegation was joined by Prof Shungo Kawanishi from JAIST, who is currently a Scholar-in-Residence at IITGN. This programme would allow select students from both the institutes to concurrently earn two Master’s degrees, one from IITGN, and one from JAIST. Both the institutes have shared an extremely vibrant partnership since 2013 when the first MoU on academic exchange...

FOUNDATION PROGRAMME – 2017

The institute places great emphasis on not only educating successful engineers of the future, but also creating well-rounded personalities, who contribute to society, are respectful and can adapt to their surroundings. The idea behind the programme is be to introduce a student, who has been committed to JEE preparation for the past three to four years, to a variety of issues and activities which comprise issues of national and international significance, ethics, sports and physical exercises, community service, sketching, artwork, and many more. From adventure sports to treasure hunt, the institute had an array of innovative activities lined up to groom its incoming batch of undergraduate students during its five-week Foundation Programme, held during July 24 to August 27. The five weeks were interspersed with sessions on storytelling, photography, sketching, music, painting, making comic books,  yoga, sports, heritage walk, theatre activities, street-cleaning and tree-planting. Several engaging talks on leadership, gender sensitivity, ethics and value education were also organised to encourage the students to open up their minds. IITGN celebrates 71st Independence Day

The institute celebrated the 71st Independence Day with great rigour and enthusiasm. The day started with the unfurling of the tricolour by Prof Sudhir K Jain, Director, IITGN which was followed with the national anthem and cultural programmes. Making of a New India The institute took “Sankalp” on August 9 to free India from poverty, terrorism, regionalism, corruption and non-hygiene by 2022.
