With a broader aim to keep the academic discourse flowing during the global Coronavirus pandemic and subsequent lockdown, Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) is starting a virtual seminar series by its faculty members from April 24, 2020. The seminars will cover diverse topics and are designed to be accessible to a general audience.
The Institute has planned two seminars per week, every Monday and Friday between 4 to 5:15 PM, which will continue till the end of the summer vacation. The exciting line up of seminar topics includes fascinating aspects of black hole physics, nanotechnology, culture and tradition of the Nagas, the relationship between humans and viruses, properties of glassy materials, languages and scripts of India, fluid mechanics etc. All the online seminars will be live-streamed on the web link given below:

Prof Sudipta Sarkar, Coordinator of this seminar series and one of the faculty speakers said, “While this pandemic has disrupted all academic activities across the globe, this crisis provides us with a unique opportunity to test things which we have probably never done before. We are planning various innovative educational programs using online platforms. Through this seminar series, we aim to provide a useful intellectual resource to everybody at this time of crisis.”
