IITGN staff visits Panchmahal, spend a day at leisure

The Adventure Frenzy Club of IITGN Staff Development Cell (SDC) organised an adventure camp and trekking for the staff members at Panchmahal on November 16. A total of 22 staff members participated in the guided adventure trail at the Bakore Campsite of Sundarvan. The participants started early in the morning and thoroughly enjoyed a three-hour trek at the Bakore forest. From there, they proceeded for Kaleshwari Archaeological Site at noon. During the trek, Rajendrasinh Jadeja from Sundarvan provided valuable information about flora and fauna of the forest as well as the archaeological sites. The institute announced a major project on the history of Indian mathematics today, with the support of a major grant by Infosys Co-founder Mr Kris Gopalakrishnan. As part of the project, IITGN will develop programmes and support research scholars, conferences, publications, etc. and broaden global awareness and understanding of the wide-ranging and seminal Indian contributions to number systems, geometry, algebra, trigonometry and algorithmic methods.
