After receiving an enthusiastic response from about 80 heads of engineering colleges across Gujarat, the Finding the Leader in You (FLY) initiative conducted a Training of Trainers (ToT) programme at the institute during January 19-20.
Hands-on training in content and methodology of the FLY programme was imparted to about 20 future facilitators (master trainers). They were trained to impart non-cognitive skills to engineering college students across Gujarat and to high school students in Jaipur. Key skills included conscientiousness, perseverance, innovativeness, taking initiative and problem-solving skills.
Key facilitators of the FLY programme – Mr Harsh Bhargava, Dr Aruna Bhargava, Mr Uday Nadkarni, Dr Amrish Garg and Mr Sandeep Sethi – also presented an overview of the process that went behind developing this programme and the importance of imparting competitive skills. Prof Havovi Trivedi, advisor to Competitiveness Mindset Initiative (CMI) at the institute and head of CMI operations in Gujarat, provided an overall plan for the FLY facilitators to implement the programme in various colleges and emphasised upon the need to maintain the quality and integrity of the programme.
