Continuing its upward journey, IITGN secured 33 rd rank in the overall category and 22 nd rank in the engineering category in the India Rankings 2021 announced by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) today.

IITGN is the only higher education institute from Gujarat to be ranked among the top 50 educational institutions in the country in the overall category. The Institute’s consistent progress over the years reflects its commitment towards excellence in academics, research, and innovation. It is also a result of the Institute’s focus on interdisciplinarity, learning by doing approach, design thinking, liberal arts, and creativity, which are at the core of its academic programmes.

Attributing this achievement to the Institute’s persistent efforts for educational excellence, Prof Sudhir Jain, Director, IITGN, said, “IITGN has always focused on quality education and meaningful research that can create a lasting impact. We are constantly striving to explore, innovate, and scale newer heights in education and research & development.

We are glad that we continued to rise in the NIRF 2021 rankings and have improved our rankings from those last year. We aim to be our own competition for global educational excellence.

Hon’ble Minister of Education, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, announced NIRF India Rankings 2021 today afternoon. NIRF outlines a methodology to rank institutions across the country. The parameters broadly cover – Teaching, Learning and Resources; Research and Professional Practices; Graduation Outcomes; Outreach and Inclusivity; and Perception. Last week, IITGN was ranked in the 601-800 band globally and among the top 10 institutes in India in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2022. IITGN has secured a global place in this prestigious international educational ranking for the third consecutive year.
