Campus Feature: Wheelchair Friendly Campus of IITGN

Campus Feature: Wheelchair Friendly Campus of IITGNThe campus of IITGN is designed in such a way that it is easily accessible by all. All the areas of the campus are wheelchair friendly, which allows the disabled persons to roam around the campus without any hassle. The academic area, housing area, hostels and even the food outlets of the campus have ramps where the wheelchair movement becomes quite easy, making it convenient for all. Also, the Central Library of IITGN follows the guidelines given by the DDA (Disability Discrimination Act) and ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) for users with disabilities. It provides flexibility and comfort to the physically challenged users in availing library services like issuing/returning of books, roaming around the library, etc. The Institute has also installed a stair-climbing wheelchair in the campus housing area, with the view of helping old age people, who live on the first or second floor of the building and are not able to climb the stairs easily. The wheelchair can also be useful during some medical emergencies. This video shows how easily a student, who faced a minor accident and sustained a fracture in her leg, commutes around the wheelchair friendly campus of IITGN.#CampusFeature
