India and Nepal root for confined masonry technology

Objectives of the workshop included sharing global initiatives, experience regarding the research and code development, and Nepal initiatives towards introducing CM construction in India. The institute organised a workshop during March 14-15 on confined masonry (CM) technology and its implementation in India and Nepal. More than 20 participants from India and Nepal, including leading academics, government officials and engineers, attended the workshop which was coordinated by Dr Svetlana Brzev, visiting professor, IITGN. 200 delegates attend international symposium of IACMAG at IITGN

A symposium of the International Association for Computer Methods and Advances in Geomechanics (IACMAG) was held during March 5-7. It focused on three themes – earthquake engineering, ground improvement and constitutive modelling. The symposium provided a forum for exchanging new experiences and discussing future developments of geomechanics and geotechnical engineering.
