Continuing its pursuit of academic and research excellence, IIT Gandhinagar has once again fared among the top 50 educational institutions in the NIRF’s India Rankings 2022. The Institute secured 37 th rank in the overall category, 23 rd rank in the engineering category, and 34 th rank in the research institutions category in the India Rankings 2022 announced by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) on July 15, 2022.
IITGN is the only higher education institute from Gujarat to be ranked among the top 50 educational institutions in the country in the overall and engineering categories. It is also the only institute from Gujarat to be ranked in the research institutions category.
It is also worth noting that the Institute’s NIRF score has improved in all three categories. Improving from a score of 52.77 in the year 2021, IITGN scored 53.92 in the overall category this year. Similarly, in comparison to the 56.86 score of last year, the Institute received 58.27 score in the engineering category. The research category score has also improved from 44.14 in 2021 to 47.30 this year.
The Institute’s consistent growth over the years reflects its commitment towards excellence in academics, research, and innovation. It is also a result of the Institute’s focus on interdisciplinarity, learning by doing approach, design thinking, liberal arts, and creativity, which are at the core of its academic programmes.
NIRF outlines a methodology to rank institutions across the country. The parameters broadly cover – Teaching, Learning and Resources; Research and Professional Practices; Graduation Outcomes; Outreach and Inclusivity; and Perception.
