The institute has always taken lead in ensuring that its family encompasses not just its students, staff and faculty members but also their families. To celebrate the family bonding and create some unforgettable memories, IITGN organised the fourth edition of IITGN Family Sports Festival from May 31 to June 02. Each year, an informal social event is celebrated wherein faculty members and staff of IITGN come together along with their families for fun, joy and fulfillment. IITGN Family Sports Festival 2019 saw enthusiastic participation from about 200 people who enjoyed it thoroughly and loved the respite from their daily routine.
The three-day celebration included an interesting mix of innovative sports and entertainment activities like leg cricket, football for women, funny and innovative relay races, puzzle solving, entertainment for kids viz. puppet show, long-man walking on stilts and short man, and socio-cultural events like family fashion show. Winners of all the games and events were rewarded and the affair became a memory to be cherished by the family members forever.
Mr Dinesh Parmar, IITGN’s sports coordinator and convener of the event, said, “Sports festivals like this uplift the mood of the staff, particularly reinforcing the sporting spirit and enhanced interactions. This festival also encourages the participants to be more involved in sports and fitness.”
