Have you ever wondered how machine learning can change the way we solve engineering problems? Or how you can use this powerful tool to improve efficiency, innovation, and decision-making in industries like manufacturing, energy, or smart infrastructure? If you are an engineer or technologist looking to enhance your skills, read on to discover an exciting opportunity.

IIT Gandhinagar (IITGN) has introduced a specialised e-Masters Degree Programme in ‘Applications of Machine Learning in Engineering’ (AMLE) to help professionals harness the potential of machine learning in engineering. This program is designed to teach participants how to apply machine learning (ML) techniques to improve processes, optimise systems, and solve real-world challenges across various engineering sectors, including automation, predictive maintenance, and energy management.

The flexible two-year program is perfect for working professionals, offering evening and weekend live interactive sessions along with self-paced learning modules. Admission does not require a GATE qualification, making it accessible to a wide range of engineers and tech professionals looking to advance their careers.

According to Prof Pratyush Dayal, Associate Professor, Chemical Engineering, and Programme Coordinator, AMLE: “The e-Masters Degree Programme in Applications of Machine Learning in Engineering is tailored to address the growing demand for professionals who can apply data-driven techniques in engineering. By integrating theoretical foundations with hands-on learning, the program will prepare participants to tackle real-world engineering challenges and optimize processes using ML methods.”

The curriculum is designed with input from industry experts, focussing on both foundational knowledge and hands-on applications. Participants will work on two industry-driven Capstone Projects, gaining real-world experience in applying ML to engineering solutions. The program also offers mentorship, career support, and IIT Gandhinagar alumni status, helping participants grow their professional network and opportunities.

As machine learning continues to transform engineering, this program aims to bridge the gap between traditional engineering and modern computational techniques. It is an excellent way to stay ahead in the rapidly evolving engineering landscape.

The application portal is open for individuals interested in registering for the program, and the first batch will begin in August 2025. For more information on eligibility and how to apply, visit: IIT Gandhinagar e-Masters.
