The Physics discipline at the Indian Institute of Tcehnology (IITGN) organised a Symposium on Frontier Problems in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (FPNN- 2020) during February 14-15. Several eminent and distinguished scientists from across the country delivered lectures and interacted with the IITGN’s students and faculty. About 65 students and researchers from the neighbouring institutes participated in the two-day event and were introduced to the cutting-edge research problems in the fields of nanoscience and nanotechnology. A series of engaging lectures made the students aware of the state-of-the-art facilities in the field and encouraged them to contribute to its development by active learning and participation.

The event was concluded successfully after receiving generous support from IITGN, Anton Paar, IOP Publishing, and Netweb Technologies. The symposium was jointly coordinated by Dr Krishna Kanti Dey and Dr Rupak Banerjee from the discipline of Physics.
