The physics discipline of Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar hosted a two-day symposium on ‘Frontier Problems in Physics’ on November 20 and 21, 2018. Eminent scientists gave lectures on outstanding research areas in theoretical and experimental physics during the two-day symposium.

Prof Rajesh Gopakumar from ICTS, Bangalore talked about String Theory and Quantum Gravity; Prof Biswarup Mukhopadhyaya from HRI Allahabad spoke about High Energy Particle Physics; Prof Amlan J Pal of IACS, Kolkata discussed NanoScience, Organic Electronics, and Spintronics; and Prof Tarun Souradeep from IUCAA, Pune had thrown some light on Cosmology and Gravitational Waves.
