Two final-year students from IIT Gandhinagar have been selected to represent the institute as Special Guests at the 76th Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi. Ms Sakshi Sridhar Katkur, a Chemical Engineering student, and Mr Vedant Pradeep Kumbhar, a Mechanical Engineering student, have been honoured with this opportunity.

Both students are recipients of the PM YASASVI (Prime Minister Young Achievers Scholarship Award Scheme), which recognises their talent, academic excellence, and unwavering dedication.

“I’m thrilled to witness the Republic Day Parade live a moment I’ve always dreamed of while watching it on TV! It feels surreal, and I’m deeply grateful for this opportunity,” said Sakshi.

“Attending the Republic Day Parade in Delhi is a moment of immense pride for me, celebrating the unity and diversity of our nation,” added Vedant.

This participation is a significant recognition under the PM YASASVI Top Class Education Scheme for OBC, EBC, and DNT Students, which has been extended to include such opportunities. It is a proud moment for IIT Gandhinagar, as these brilliant students embody the institute’s values and celebrate the vibrant spirit of the nation.
