Every time when a batch leaves, we feel both happy and sad. It is a time to say our goodbyes and let our kids take charge of their lives, independently. At the same time, we feel proud to have groomed them in a way that they can walk out in the world with great knowledge and confidence, with the faith that their family IITGN is always there for them. I wish my children the best of journeys and the best of lives ahead!

Director, IITGN

It was indeed an evening with mixed emotions. There was happiness in the air, happiness of finally acomplishing the goal and graduating. On the other hand, there was nostalgia and emotional undercurrent as the batch of 2019 will soon leave behind the campus and begin a new journey.

Bidding adieu to their alma mater IIT Gandhinagar, the present batch of students, faculty and staff members came together for the formal farewell dinner – Udaan on April 14.

One of the most awaited programmes for the institute, UDAAN collects the whole fraternity at one place where they express their feelings, share memories of the institute and dine together. Messages, speeches and performances by the students and faculty members, followed by delicious food, makes the programme, an affair to remember.

Four years at a place is no less time. After spending these many years of their lives here on campus, there is no doubt that it becomes a second home for the students. Be it group studies, late night assignment completion, deadline commitments or festival celebrations, each student has had something to cherish. Some departed with joyous smiles on their faces while some had tears in their eyes.

Every student recollected the time they had spent at the institute. From fighting with each other to fighting for each other, every IITian has made a bunch of friends who are going to be their lifetime support system.
